The Mentidero Archetype Whisky is a strictly limited Spanish craft whiskey. which is produced with the best malt from the Castilla region where it grows under the hot Spanish sun. A naturally pitched malt, with an intense flavor created throughout the distillation process without the addition of artificial flavors to preserve its authentic taste. The fermentation process takes place in small quantities with specially selected yeasts via a triple distillation in our copper stills. To achieve the highest level of purity, we carefully discard the heads and tails and only use the middle to get the intense and aromatic heart of the distillate into the casks.

Our Double Cask Whisky is matured in 220 liter oak casks previously used to age fine Rioja Tempranillo and Pedro Ximenéz wines. The casks grant original notes of the Spanish countryside unseen in other whiskeys and a natural reddish color that makes them unique. As a single cask whisky, each batch is independently matured in a 220 liter cask, without any Solera process. Once our whiskey has reached its age, it leaves the cask and is bottled straight without filtering or coloring to retain its unique character and intense aroma in the bottle. Our master distillers blend the whiskey from both casks (Rioja and Pedro Ximénez) that have the same natural process but different degrees of aging.
